Hosted by Full Throttle Magazine, the proceeds of this fundraiser will go to the Florida Sheriff’s Youth Ranch which supports children from difficult upbringings find a place of safety and peace. Many of these children come from broken homes with parents who are in and out of jail or struggling with addiction. This incredible program fosters the children in ranch-style homes where they are finally given the chance to live a “normal” life. Each home is assigned a married couple to foster about 10 children and give them a strong foundation for their futures. Children are given chores, taught proper communication skills, and encouraged to be active and creative. Those dedicating their time to this important cause ensure the children have as normal of a home life as possible, including enacting curfews and setting realistic goals. Children are welcome to reunite with their families if parents complete the necessary programs and are able to provide a safe and loving home environment. Unfortunately, some parents lose their rights and their children remain with the Sheriff’s Youth Ranch until another family member takes them in or the children grow up to live on their own. There are few words to describe the incredible work the Sheriff’s Youth Ranch is able to accomplish, and solely by relying on the donations of community members who want to make a difference. All funds go to food, clothing, toys, books, and property maintenance. Without this help, these children are at risk of being shuffled into the foster system, possibly exposing them to an unhealthy and unsupportive environment. The Sheriff’s Youth Ranch does everything in its power to prevent children from going back to what is familiar and making poor choices. They take in children as young as 3 and provide support until they reach the age of 21. This amazing organization’s purpose is to help these children transition into responsible young adults. Needless to say, the Sheriff’s Youth Ranch is an amazing organization and we are honored to support them.
